Salt in the Bread - Neil Rhind

Miles inland

Cornish grain still tastes of salt

From sea-spray tang's

South-Westerly assault

Whipped by winds

From off the froth of foam

Where mist begins

And seeds of storms are sewn.

Neil Rhind has been doctored by Edinburgh University for work on the Scottish polymath Alasdair Gray. A contributor to Poetry Scotland, Apricity, Eemis Stane, Red Ogre Review, Punt Volat, and others, his work has appeared in thematic anthologies on scientists, Satanists and cephalopods, and many ritually significant community dramas in Edinburgh.
